Operation Battle Buddy
“Because our heroes deserve more than a thank you — they deserve a Battle Buddy.”

Veteran Service Dog Applications
We’re ready. Are you?
Dog Training Federation is proud to fulfill our mission by accepting applications for a new service dog placement through Operation Battle Buddy. This program is more than just dog training—it’s about restoring freedom, dignity, and support to veterans who need it most.
We’re looking for a veteran who:
-
Currently owns a dog with potential for service work OR needs help finding the right match
-
Ideally lives close enough to attend in-person training at least once a month, and is also willing to stay engaged through phone or video consultations as needed. While we’d love to work with someone local, we’re fully prepared to support a dedicated veteran no matter where they live.
-
Wants to be a part of a mission-driven community dedicated to healing and hope
Location isn’t a barrier—we’re committed to serving veterans no matter where they are. While proximity to Pennsylvania is a fantastic bonus, it’s not a requirement. We're fully prepared to work with veterans both in and out of state.
If you’re a veteran who could benefit from a service dog—or you know someone who is, you can apply on their behalf and help start this journey for them.
This is the first step in what we hope will be a life-changing partnership.

🐶 What We’re Asking in Return
This is a gift—but it’s also a partnership.
We do not charge veterans for service dog training. However, we do ask for the following in return:
-
Commitment: A genuine willingness to stick with the process, stay involved, and be fully dedicated to the success of your partnership with your dog. This includes in-person training sessions and check-ins by phone or video when needed. We’re in this for the long haul—and we need you to be, too.
-
Communication: Be responsive and transparent with your trainer throughout the process.
-
Advocacy: Share your experience. Help us raise awareness, educate the public, and support other veterans who may walk this path after you.
We can’t let you walk this road alone—and you shouldn’t let them either. -
Gratitude: Not in the form of money—but in the form of paying it forward. Whether that’s mentoring the next veteran-handler team, attending outreach events in your area (like school visits or local community gatherings), or simply showing up with your dog and your story—your presence helps us keep this mission alive.
