Our Story
Founded to Provide Service Dogs to Veterans.
Here for All Dogs and Their People.
Dogs improve lives, boost happiness, and foster independence. Canine companions can provide mobility assistance, mental health support, and a sense of comfort and safety, especially to people who are disabled or who have survived traumatic experiences.
We are a team of experienced, certified dog trainers in northern Pennsylvania who have made it our mission to assist wounded veterans and their family members in finding, training, and certifying service dogs. Since 2012, we've been providing practical solutions to dog owners in and around Southern California— military and civilian.
We use positive reinforcement techniques and humane principles to foster a strong and trusting relationship between clients and their dogs. The same techniques we use to raise calm, reliable service dogs work equally well for household pets. Everyone should be able to take their pup to the dog park, leave them at home, or walk them in crowded public places without worrying about reactivity, aggression, and other problem behaviors. Dog Training Federation is dedicated to improving the lives of veterans, families, students, communities, and the dogs they love.

Through Operation Battle Buddy, we provide trained and certified service dogs to veterans at no cost to the veteran. Our goal is more than providing a dog. We work to improve quality of life, reduce stress, increase independence, strengthen connections between veterans and their families, and provide a trusted companion and support system that can help reduce the risk of veteran suicide. Veteran suicide prevention is at the heart of our mission. We believe every veteran deserves hope, purpose, connection, and a reason to keep moving forward—and no veteran should have to walk that road alone.

We believe stronger communities are built through education, outreach, and access. We provide free community dog-training events and educational opportunities that help dog owners better understand, communicate with, and care for their K9 companions. We also work with students and classrooms through educational programs, including our reading programs, where dogs help create a positive, encouraging environment that builds confidence and makes learning more enjoyable.
We are committed to improving the lives of K9s through enrichment, exercise, training, and access to safe infrastructure where dogs can learn, play, socialize, and thrive. We believe that providing dogs with appropriate outlets and opportunities for enrichment creates healthier, happier companions and stronger relationships between dogs and their people.

We also support local animal rescues by providing training assistance to help rescue dogs become more adoptable. By addressing training and behavioral challenges, we can help give dogs a better opportunity to find safe, loving, and permanent homes while supporting the organizations working every day to save them.
